Additionally, theáagentshandling passengers inátheáBusiness Terminal have started their Englishlanguage course.

Among theáAviation Training Centreĺsclassrooms there isáaádedicated andáspecially equipped aviationclassroom, which includes operating modern screening devices specifically forthe purpose ofátraining ourásecurity personnel, aálecture hall, aálanguagelaboratory andáaálibrary with aárich fund ofáliterature. Allátheáclassrooms areequipped with visual aids andátechnical training aids, which allows high quality training notáonly theáAirportĺs personnel butáalso other companiesĺstaff.

Today, theáAviation Training Centre ofátheáAirport offers 38áspecialty courses.

The specialist Aviation TrainingCentre of Kurumoch International Airport was opened in 2004. The Centre is certified by the FederalAgency for Transport Supervision of the Transport Ministry of theRussian Federation and provides the highest quality professional groundstaff training, from basic training and refresher courses through tofurther education and supplementary professional qualifications.

All training is performed in accordance with the needs of the relevantAirport departments, such as Passenger Handling Service, CargoOperations, Aerodrome Service, Aviation Engineering Service, SpecialTransport Complex and others.

The compliance audit was conducted within two days by the auditors of Bureau Veritas Certification, aworldwide leader inácertification services. Theácompanyĺs experts carried outthe compliance audit practically ináallátheáAirportĺs services andádepartments.

Following theáresults ofátheácompliance audit, theAirportĺs Quality Management System hasábeen recognized asáequivalent toátheStandard requirements ofáISOá9001:2000.

It isáappropriate atthis point toárecall that such aácompliance audit isáconducted once aáyear incompanies certified ináaccordance with ISOá9001:2000. Theáfirst renewal auditwas carried outáatáKurumoch Airport aáyear ago.

In 2009, theáAirport isexpected toápass itsáISOá9001:2000 re-certification audit.

Note:

Kurumoch International Airport is the first Russian airport tosuccessfully complete its certification audit to ISO 9001:2000. Certificationhas confirmed that all the Airport services fully comply with modern internationallyexpected standards (Certificate ╣ 200189 as of October 30, 2006, issued byBureau Veritas Certification).

Theprimary objectives of the Airport's quality management (those of passenger,baggage, cargo, mail and customer airlineĺs aircraft handling - includingnavigational support, aerodrome flight support and prompt aircraft maintenance,flight safety, flight regularity, aviation security and also training performedat the Airportĺs Aviation Training Centre) have all met with the auditorsapproval.

The Airporthas implemented a Quality Management System complying with the requirements ofISO 9001:2000. This allows the Airport to continuously improve the efficiencyof its internal business processes in response to changes in the air transportservices market.

Kurumoch International Airport hasátabulated theáresults ofáitsábusiness activity forátheáfirst 8ámonths ofá2008. Theánumber ofápassengers handled byátheáAirport hasáincreased more than 12%áinácomparison with theásame period last year.

A total of 1,028,543passengers were handled at Samara airport during the period from January toAugust 2008, which is an increase of 111,857 or 12.2%.á Along with that, a considerable increase inpassenger traffic through the Airport is still recorded on internationalcharter flights (+19.6%) and also domestic routes (+14.2%). The greatest numberof passengers is recorded on the scheduled flights from Samara to Moscow, Prague, Kaliningrad, Anapa, Rostov-on-Don and also on the charterflights to Barcelona, Larnaca, Iraklion, Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada. á

On August 27Kurumoch International Airportwelcomed itsámillionth passenger this year just asáitáhadábeen earlierpredicted byátheáexperts.á

Togetherwith theápassenger traffic through Samara Airport, other figureshave increased recently. Here isáaádetailed background: during theáperiod fromJanuary toáAugust 2008 theáAirport recorded 16,286 aircraft movements, which isaá3%áincrease asácompared with theásame period last year. Asáforámaximumtake-off weight (MTOW), itátotaled 1,003,224 tonnes, which isáaágrowth toátheátune of5% when compared with theáfirst 8ámonths ofá2007.á

Such carriers as ôAeroflot-Russian Airlinesö, ôKD-AVIAö, ôCzechAirlinesö, ôOrenburgAirlinesö, ôRossija STCö, ôS7 Airlinesö showed the most considerable increasein the figures of the 8 months 2008. Kurumoch International Airporttogether with air carriers have been constantly striving to widen their routenetwork as well as to increase the frequency of flights on the existingdestinations.

AiráTransport College ofáSamara State Aerospace University (SSAU) welcomed newástudents entering aáunique specialty course onáAviation Security andáSafety.

SAMARA airport
A celebratory assemblydevoted to the beginning of the new academic year took place on September 1. Themanagement of Samara State AerospaceUniversity and Kurumoch International Airport as well as theCollege teaching staff congratulated students on this occasion and wished thema success in their study. Those who had obtained top marks in the previous yearalso got award letters and grants founded by the Airport management.á

Two more specialty courseson Transport Service Organization andáAircraft andáEngine Maintenancehave been introduced this year along with theáexisting ones onáAir TransportManagement (with aáspecialization onáAviation Security andáSafety).á

Notably, following theresults ofátheá2007/2008 academic year, theástudents ofátheáCollege have maderather good progress inátheir study. 18áoutáofá54ástudents have been ratedôvery goodö andáôexcellentö, andá9áofátheátotal number have obtained topámarksonly.á

This 2008/2009 academicyear, theáAiráTransport Collegehas welcomed another 59ástudents.

The Air Transport Collegeof Samara StateAerospace University(SSAU) was created in 2007 to expand the Aviation Training Centre of Kurumoch International Airport.á

There is much demand in this country, presently unsatisfied, for highly-qualifiedaviation specialists of secondary and higher vocational level. With thisregard, Kurumoch InternationalAirport has taken the lead of thecreation of the Air Transport Educational Complex in the Volgaregion. The initiative was seized by the Government of the Samara Region, theVolga Region Air Transport District of the Federal Air Transport Agency, theVolga Supervisory Department for Aviation of the Federal Air Transport Serviceand the Samara Regionĺs security agencies. As a result, the Air TransportCollege of Samara State Aerospace University(SSAU) was opened in 2007.á

Initially, the Air Transport Collegeoffered specialty courses on Air Transport Management (with a specialization onAviation Security and Safety). Some more new specialty courses have also beenintroduced this year.á

The Air TransportCollege is now the first and onlyeducational institution in Russiato train highly-qualified specialists in the field of transportation security.
